TRANSFER SCOTLAND – TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. General

These terms and conditions, together with any other written information brought to your attention before we confirm your booking, shall form the basis of your contract with Hopscotch Travel Limited (operating as Transfer Scotland) (“us”, “we”, “our” or the “Company”).

Within these conditions, ‘you’ and ‘your’ means all persons named on the booking. By making a booking, the lead contact specified will be deemed to have accepted these conditions on behalf of all passengers.

For the purpose of these Terms & Conditions, Transfer Scotland refers to all transfer services including airport transfers, meeting transfers, event transportation, daily transfers and private transport services.

​

The terms ‘written’ or ‘in writing’ include email.

​

All services are sold subject to availability.

Nothing in these terms is intended to contravene the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 (the “2018 Regulations”) or the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and your statutory rights are not affected.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. The version published on our website at the time of your booking will apply.

2. Booking Process

Bookings may be made via:

  • Our website

  • Email

  • Telephone

  • Through an authorised agent

​

Your booking is only confirmed once we have issued written confirmation.

​

For scheduled day tours, full payment is required at the time of booking.

​

For multi-day tours, a non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, with the balance due no later than 28 days prior to departure, unless otherwise stated.

​

For transfers, full payment is normally required at the time of booking unless a corporate or account arrangement is in place.

​

We are not responsible for availability until payment is received and confirmation is issued.

​

3. Accommodation and Third-Party Services

Unless expressly stated, accommodation is NOT included in the price of any tour or transfer.

​

If requested, we may arrange accommodation or additional services on your behalf. In doing so, we act solely as an intermediary and any contract is formed between you and the third-party supplier.

​

Cancellation charges levied by third-party suppliers are additional to any outlined in these Terms and may be payable by you.

​

4. Changes by Us

​

While we will do everything reasonably possible to provide your booked services as confirmed, we reserve the right to alter itineraries, vehicles, routes, drivers or accommodation where necessary due to operational, safety or logistical reasons.

If a significant change is required, you will be offered:

​

a) An alternative of similar or higher quality
b) A lower quality alternative with refund of the difference
c) A full refund

We cannot guarantee exact arrival or departure times due to traffic, weather or unforeseen conditions.

5. Changes by You

​

If you wish to make changes to your confirmed booking, you must notify us in writing as soon as possible. Only the lead contact may request changes.

​

Any approved change may result in:

  • An administration fee

  • A fare adjustment

  • Additional supplier charges

If we cannot accommodate your requested change, it will be treated as a cancellation.

6. Transfers – Free Cancellation Policy

​

This applies specifically to airport transfers, meeting transfers, daily transfers and private transportation services operated under the Transfer Scotland brand.

​

Free cancellation until a driver is assigned

​

You may cancel free of charge up until the point a driver is formally assigned to your booking.

A driver is deemed to be “assigned” when you receive written confirmation by email, text message or system update.

Once a driver has been assigned, the following charges apply:

  • More than 24 hours before scheduled pickup time: 50% of transfer cost

  • Within 24 hours of scheduled pickup time: 100% of transfer cost

  • Driver has arrived / No-show / Not contactable: 100% of transfer cost

  • ​

This policy applies regardless of reason, including flight changes, personal circumstances, travel delays or third-party disruption.

​

7. Cancellation by You – Tours

​

A) Day Tours

  • More than 28 days before departure: 10% charge

  • 28 days or fewer before departure: 100% charge

  • No-show: 100% charge

​

B) Multi-Day Tours

  • More than 28 days before departure: deposit forfeited

  • 28 days or fewer before departure: 100% charge

  • No refunds for unused portions or early departure

​

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance.

​

8. Cancellation by Us

We will only cancel services due to unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances. If we cancel, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid.

No compensation will be payable beyond the total amount paid for your booking.

​

9. Missed Departures

You are responsible for being present at the correct pickup point, on the correct date and at the correct time.

Failure to attend will be treated as a no-show with no refund.

​

10. Delays & Waiting Time (Transfers)

You are responsible for providing accurate arrival details including flight numbers and mobile contact numbers.

Where complimentary waiting time is included, it will be stated in your booking confirmation.

​

Beyond that:

  • Additional waiting time may be charged

  • The driver may be released

  • The journey may be treated as a no-show

 

We are not responsible for delays caused by airlines, border control, weather, traffic, vessel delays or third parties.

​

11. Refusal of Travel

​

We reserve the right to refuse service to any person whose conduct is likely to cause distress, danger, offence or disruption.

Anyone considered unfit to travel or likely to harm others may be refused transport with full cancellation charges applied.

12. Our Liability & Supplier Responsibility

​

Third-party services (including accommodation and external transport providers) operate under their own terms.

We are not responsible for acts or omissions of independent suppliers unless they are under our direct control.

Any compensation (where applicable) shall be limited to no more than twice the booking value, except in cases involving death, personal injury, fraud or negligence, where liability cannot be limited by law.

We are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses.

​

13. Special Requests & Medical Conditions

​

You must notify us of any special requests, medical conditions or disabilities at the time of booking. While we will endeavour to accommodate you, we cannot guarantee suitability for all services. Failure to disclose relevant information may result in booking cancellation with applicable charges.

​

14. Luggage

​

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, luggage is limited to:

​

  • One small to medium bag per passenger (max 15kg)

  • Space is limited and weight-regulated

Excess luggage may result in refused carriage.

​

All luggage is carried at your own risk.

​

15. Smoking

​

Smoking or vaping is not permitted in any of our vehicles.

​

16. Complaints

​

Any complaint during your service should be reported immediately to your driver or guide.

​

If unresolved, email: info@transfer-scotland.com within 28 days of travel.

​

17. Insurance

​

We strongly recommend adequate travel and cancellation insurance.

​

18. Data Protection & Privacy

​

We process personal data solely for the purpose of fulfilling your booking and operating our services.

​

Details may be shared with relevant suppliers where strictly necessary.

​

Please refer to our Privacy Policy on our website.

​

19. Website Content & Media Use

​

You consent to images and videos taken on tours or transfers being used for marketing purposes unless you explicitly object in writing in advance.

​

Any content uploaded by you to our platforms remains your property but you grant us a licence for marketing and operational use.

​

20. Promotional Codes

​

Promotional codes are subject to availability, validity dates and may be withdrawn at any time.

​

They hold no cash value and cannot be combined.

​

21. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform our obligations due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to: adverse weather, war, strikes, accidents, terrorism, road closures or government action.

​

22. Enforceability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remainder remains valid and enforceable.

​

23. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Scots Law and disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.
